ACME went to the front at the start, made the pace to the stretch while engaging OUR EQUITY, raced the latter into defeat and, ridden out during the last three-sixteenths, held a clear advantage to the finish. LIMERICK BOY saved ground while reserved to the last three-eighths, saved ground at the stretch turn and closed willingly under urging, but could not reach the top one. RED INQUISITOR, in hand to the stretch, finished strongly under punishment. SUN BOUND tired during the drive. OUR EQUITY gave way after forcing ACMES pace to the stretch. SOMA LAD, reserved and saving ground to the last three-eighths, responded readily when punished during the drive and, after racing by JATAK, held DANADA RED safe. The latter gradually worked way forward under good handling, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and closed gamely, but could not get to the winner. JATAK assumed the lead at the statf, made the pace to the stretch, but faltered when challenged by SOMA LAD. POLAR BATTLE was outrun. BIG CASINO tired after racing well to the stretch. AMANECER began slowly and was never a serious factor. CASS tired and raced wide after showing early speed. CHECK UP could not keep up.
