NCAA Refuses Pehn Request For Hearing on Suspension LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 11 IJP.— President Hugh C. Willett of the National Collegiate Athletic Association says the group turned thumbs down on the University of Pennsylvanias request for a hearing on its suspension because the question of telecasting football games already has been decided. » In a letter to Francis T. Murray, Pennsylvanias athletic director, the NCAA president said the association has thoroughly explored the television question and will not review Penns suspension from athletic groups for ignoring the NCAA controlled television plan. Before leaving for Spokane, Wash., during the week-end, Willett issued a statement to the press closing the door on proposals for an association meeting to discuss the case. He did not reveal the contents of his letter to Murray, *but said he would be glad if Murray released the letter when he receives it. Willett said he reminded Murray that Penns view on telecasting games were given "patient consideration" by delegates to a recent NCAA convention at Dallas, Texas, and by the associations television council. ■ * , n r r
