Three Cities Get Approval For Louis-SaYold Telecast WASHINGTON, D. C, June 11 UP.— The Federal Communications Commission today cleared the way for Washington, Baltimore and Chicago boxing fans to see the Joe Louis-Lee Savoid heavyweight bout in theaters receiving telecasts over private circuits. FCC authority was not needed in two other cities— Albany, N. Y., and Cleveland — where coaxial cables will pipe the show right into the theaters. Telephone companies in the three cities needed special authority because they will use microwave transmission from their plants to the theaters. Wednesday nights bout at New Yorks Polo Grounds will be televised only for the theaters contracting to receive it. It will not be broadcast by regular TV stations.
