WIDDEFORD assumed command at once, opened a clear lead and was kept going under constant urging. URANIUM, in closest attendance of the pace, rallied to press at the end. SENATOR C. loomed as a threat in the late stages* but was unable to reach the leaders. BONAVENTURE closed willingly. ALBERTO D. finished stoutly from far off the pace. FEEFIFOFUM, forwardly placed along the inside, failed to rally under pressure and pulled up lame. WHIM WISE was unable to keep up. AMEN passed tiring horses. The others were never prominent. PINK GIN assumed command soon after the start, was urged into comfortable advantaqe and held on well. MOON MIAMI, never far off the pace, rallied mildly in the closing stages. ESPEDECO closed willingly in the final furlong. FAZZULA, sluggish in the early stages, came around horses and closed with a belated rush. PAPAYA saved ground while improving position, but lacked a closing rally. HATTIES GIFT had no mishap. JOE TOWN showed speed for three furlongs. WENDIGO drove up between horses and was pressing through the stretch. JOES GAL forced C the pace, being forced wide on the final turn. RINGNECK, under steadying restraint to the final turn, raced Z very wide and lacked a closing rally. BLUE FALCON raced close to the pace, made a brief challenge and m was carried wide. The latter moved to engage for the command on the final turn and finished willingly. GOOD MASK set a rapid pace, saved ground and held on stubbornly. JOBIE tired after racing close to the pace. SIAMESE, in hand and saving ground close to the pace, benefited as the leader raced wide, assumed, command and drew out and won easily. WILLEGIVIT swerved to the inside leaving the barrier, was taken up and trailed to the far turn, responded when roused and closed with a rush. TOP RAIDER saved ground to better late position. PANGO PANGO was in close quarters early. SMALL STUFF showed nothing: JOLLY IRISH set the pace, was under steadying restraint to the far turn, then drifted out badly. TOM FERRIS ran up close on heels of horses on the first turn, was taken back, made a brief challenge in the stretch and quit. GINO GRAY, in closest attendance of the pace under steadying restraint, was moving to the lead when carried to the outside and eliminated. SAM NORRIS was outrun. MON TORCH moved up rapidly rounding the far turn after settling into full stride, saved ground to assume command on the turn for home then held his advantage to the end under steady pressure. GAY COURIER was rated nicely well off the pace, moved up rapidly rounding the final turn, but could not catch the winner. FLYING MILE, prominent from the start, could not menace the top ones in the final drive. TEL-AVIV showed b good effort. IRMAS JIM had good speed for six furlongs, then tired.
