Driver Killed in 24-Hour Le Mans Auto Race LE MANS, France, June 23 UP.— Pierre rre Lariviere, a garage owner from Agadir, Morocco, lo- was killed today 35 minutes after the ;he start of the 24-hour Le Mans automobile ile race. His Ferrari car failed to take the sharp tup Tertre Rouge turn before the straightaway J* on the far side of the track, hit the protective sand wall and crashed into a barbed bed wire barricade. He was dead when track ,ack officials reached the wreckage. Larivieres wife was in the stand when nen the fatal accident occurred. A heavy rain fell last night, converting ting the track into one of the most, dangerous rous in years. On the twentieth lap, H. P. Hitch-ings tch- of Great Britain drove his Allard car car into the same sand wall, but escaped without injury.
