McGUIRE Staff Correspondent LEXINGTON, Ky., June 23.— Eleven top stallions are represented by yearlings in the group of a dozen fillies and seven colts that comprise the consignment to the Keeneland Summer Sales of the Spend- thrift Farm of Leslie Combs II. The young- sters are by Shannon II., War Jeep, Pavot, Jet Pilot, Eight Thirty, Priam II., Poly- nesian, Requested, Bimelech, Alibhai and War Admiral. The mares are a representative lot headed by Myrtlewood although this gallant matriarch died last spring after foaling a War Admiral colt. Myrtlewood is represented by a hand- some bay colt by the "Triple Crown" win- ner who sired her last foal. This youngster is a half-brother to the noted mares Miss Dogwood, Durazna and Crepe Myrtle. Du- raznas colt in the sale is a robust bay Bimelech who is attracting much favorable comment. A colt by War Jeep from Dog- rose is a brother to the Joliet Stakes win- ner Feudin Fightin. The prowess of Cigar Maid and The Pimpernel, who are members of the first crop of the young stallion Pavot, will help focus attention on a sales colt by that young sire. This youngster a bay from the winning Pharamond mare, Dorothy Rock. Her foals to race are the winners Rocket Shell, Petrified and Leo P. McL. Requested is the sire of the only gray in the lot. This colt is the second foal of the Supremus mare Impulsive. Ali- bhai is represented among the colts by sturdy chestnut from the St. James mare Devil Dancer. A colt from the Jack High matron Merry Fairy, is by the Kentucky Derby winner Jet Pilot. Alibhai Miss Commands Attention Among the fillies is a comely miss Alibhai who compels attention. She is from the High Time mare Lynn and is a half- sister to the stakes winner Stirrup Cup. War Admiral is the sire of a compact filly from the speedy Beau Pere mare Distaff, a sister to the stakes winner Pater. Certain to command keen interest is a Bimelech filly from the imported mare Belle Cane, by Beau Pere. This youngster is a half-sister to the Santa Margarita Handicap winner Lurline and to Selector who won the East View Stakes. The Australian stallion Shannon II. the sire of three fillies in the Spendthrift group. These are nicely confromed youngsters from the mares Avilion, by Sir Galla- had ni., Imported Brora, by Bosworth, Dowry, by Beau Pere. Jet Pilot, sire of flashy juvenile, Jet Master, is the sire of filly from the Sun Teddy mare Dungene whose only foal to race is the winner Eight Grand. The second foal of the unraced mare Esteemed One is by the popular stallion Eight Thirty. The French stallion Priam H. the sire of an attractive chestnut daughter of the Reigh Count mare Flag Lilly. The mating of the promising young rig1 I stallion Polynesian with the Jacopo mare re Golden Legend produced a sprightly miss who may have the speed of her sire. Golden en; ; Legend is a half-sister to Dushka, a stakes les ! ; winner in England. War Jeep is the sire of j two fillies who complete the Spendthrift sales group. One is a good looking chestnut from the Imported Donatello II. mare ire Model Flight who is a sister to the English stakes winner Don Du Ciel. Model Flight ht also is a half-sister to the English stakes les winners Reynard Volant and Sunday Express.
