Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. JOE E. LEWIS, steadied on the rail until leaving the turn, came out for the drive and caught OUR DORIE in the final stride. The latter was placed under slight restraint when unable to match strides with JAMES B. after a quarter mile, reached command when the latter faltered and shortened stride nearing the wire. PASSING HOUR, unhurried early, finished well with a belated bid. JAMES B. displayed good speed until midstretch and tired. YOR OPTICIAN and BATTLEBUZ were never prominent. MAIJO went to the extreme outside midway of the backstretch, remained wide thereafter and caught tired horses. BETSY MARIE had no excuse. INQUIRING broke poorly. ALEATORY tired. KINGS DAISY was a sharp factor from the break, obtained command when straightened for the drive and won fully extended. SUNNY DALE forced her way between horses to improve position and closed willingly. PEERLESS MARY, never far back, went slightly wide leaving the turn and faltered. SILVER AGE lacked room on the inside on the backstretch and turn. SECLUDE was slow to begin. BALSAM was forced to lose ground and tired. STUBBORN had good speed for a half mile and tired. RELOUP was carried wide on the turn by ELMOS WINK, who ran to the extreme outside and her rider had both feet out of the stirrup irons through the drive. Scratched— 313693 Intelligence, 115. COUSIN went into the lead just after the start and came to the rail on the backstretch, drifted out badly through the drive and drew away under mild encouragement. TOWN GHOST, never far back, went wide leaving the turn and closed best of the others. REQUISITION came to the rail when clear and, closest to the pace on the turn, faltered in the drive. CARBEAU had no excuse. JOLIE BOY ran wide on the turn. DECAPOLIS ran to the extreme outside on the turn. THIS SIDE raced very wide throughout. CHILD WONDER also ran out rounding the turn. UNCENSORED showed nothing. GRAPHIC took the lead shortly after the start and was rated until straightened for the drive, then outgamed AWAY AWAY. The latter went through on the inside to be closest to the pace, engaged the winner a quarter mile from the finish, but was not gcod enough. EASY WHIRL lost ground and lacked a rally. HIT BACK went through on the rail leaving the turn, brushed with EASY WHIRL, then had to be placed in hand when blocked nearing the furlong marker and failed to recover. SHEILAS REWARD was forced to race slightly wide rounding the first turn while on nearly even terms for the lead, drew clear quickly when straightened out on the backstretch, increased his margin under rating on the final turn, was hard put for the final furlong and held LIGHTS UP safe. The latter was permitted to race a trifle wide for the better footing, went up en the outside in the drive and finished resolutely. PIET improved position on the rail on the final turn, was guided out slightly for the drive and lacked a menacing rally. OIL CAPITOL vied for the lead on the first turn between horses, was eased back entering the backstretch, was on the inside when called upon in the drive and weakened. WHY NOT NOW stumbled at the beginning, was pinched back entering the first turn and failed to threaten thereafter. STEEL BLUE had brief speed and quit.
