Starecase Appears Best In Feature at Monmouth Entry of Bolo Mack, Helen May Will Vie With Jersey-Bred Colt MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 23. — This summer meeting enters the second week of operations on Monday with an eight -race program that has attracted a considerably increased number of entrants over the scanty fields which have recently been evident. The fifth race, a six furlongs dash, is the nominal feature. Heavy rains this morning assure that the track will be in an "off" condition on Monday, and racing secretary John Turner, Jr., encountered difficulty persuading horsemen to enter their better horses. In consequence, the feature will be contested by a small field of six, including a stable entry. James Cox Bradys Starecase, who has occasionally displayed brilliant speed and has many times raced coupled with the more highly regarded Casemate, will undoubtedly be heavily favored. The Jersey -bred four-year-old colt stopped badly in a race here, but he seems to have the class over these. None of the others have fared much better recently and a very noticeable fact is that they each finished dead-last in their latest engagements, with the exceptions of Starecase and Bolo Mack, who both finished next to last. In the case of Starecase, it was only his second start of the year, and he may be excused with reason that he was probably "short." No doubt he will set a fast pace Monday, and will probably carry his speed to a victory. Opposing him will be the entry of Mrs. C. A. Copes Bolo Mack and C. A. Copes Helen May, Frank Yacovellis Joiner, Grandview Stables Happy Victor and Joseph Gavegnanos Blue Lantern.
