GOOD QUESTION saved ground when outrun to the stretch, was sent to the inside for the drive and. responding to punishment, were down the leaders to win going away. DEAR TINT began fast, made the pace to the last eighth under pressure from SPUNKY, raced the latter into defeat, but could not wtihstand the winner. HEART FLASH tired during the stretch run. BROWNANNE was hustled to the front early, made the pace to the stretch under steady rating, responded to mild urging thereafter and held-POLAR BATTLE safe. The iatter, never far back and saving ground, closed gamely under punishment but could not get to the winner. SKY TRAIN was unable to better his position when hard urged through the stretch. WHATANURSE tired after displaying early speed. LADY SERENATA disliked the muddy track. COUNT QUICK was outrun. PHARACK and BIM0NT were far back throughout. LATE BREEZE, well ridden, saved ground while racing within striking distance of GAY HENRIETTA to the stretch, raced by the latter during the drive and lasted to withstand NITRO FIRE. The latter, in hand until reaching the late three-eighths, closed strongly under punishment, but could not overtake the top one, although much the best of the others. ISOCRATES, far back to the stretch, made up ground during the drive. SON CHARLIE was outrun and had no mishap. GAY HENRIETTA assumed command at the start, made the pace until inside the stretch, then gave way when challenged by LATE BREEZE. AIRDROME had early speed, but tired badly after the opening quarter mile and could not handle the muddy track. Scratched— 307933 Dorigen, 111; 317452 Crack Reward, 118; 31792 Phantom Heels. 120. COUNTRY EDITOR, away alertly and forwardly placed from the start, assumed command before going a half mile, gave way to ROUGHN READY approaching the stretch, but came again when set down in the drive and wore down the latter in the last strides. ROUGHN READY, never far back, was sent to the inside of COUNTRY EDITOR after leaving the backstretch, went to the front and continued willingly under urging, but could not withstand the winner, just missing. SWEET REWARD, away sluggishly, gradually improved position while saving ground, but could not get to the leaders when hard urged through the stretch. HOLLY MAC faltered during the final furlong. PARTRIDGE had a rough trip. ONWARD MARCH could not keep up. NORTH SHORE raced wide. AIR TARGET tired after racing well to the stretch. LIBERTY A. had brief speed, but tired in the muddy track and steadily lost ground after the initial quarter mile.
