The six-year-old protege of Emmit Hoffee of Fairfield, 111., drew himself into the second division of the 17 class stake event Monday night and goes for the ,212 purse against "good" competition while the only horse able to beat him at Cicero this year in five starts, Gallant Song, drew into the first division with other toughies like Clemens Abbe, Atomic Might and Theodores First. The second division will go in the eighth race with nine entrants. Red Stines Concert Master, off his last seasons performance is considered the toughest competition for Grattan Truax. But Oscar Sil-veys Scotty Direct could cause plenty of trouble if he gets off well from his No. 9 spot. That means he comes from behind the No. 1 horse. Sheldon Pointer. Sheldon Pointer won his first start here and will be driven by Ben Parkinson. Red Scott will handle Helens Chief, who is expected to finish in the money off his past record this spring. Grattan Truax won his third straight victory at Cicero, running his streak to seven in a row, but Gallant Song broke his string in the ninth race when the Fairfield flash got in trouble in the backstretch. Glen Barkers entry of Way Yonder and Fay Spencer will be hard to beat in the seventh race. Charley Tishers Chipmite will be making his first start in there since arriving from California. So will Norman Townes Lee Dewey, who won the 0,000 Maywood Trotting Derby last year.
