BOLD WARRIOR was sluggish earl but rapidly raced down the leaders from the outside through the backstretch while under wraps, drifted wk when urged for the drive, but was going away at the end AFLAME was well placed, loomed boldly comin through an opening next to the rail in the stretch drive, but hung and barely lasted to best TINY ADMIRAl The latter made a rush into contention on the final turn, then could not carry his speed in the stretch rui SIR STEPHEN timed his move from behind with the winner, but could not stay with the latter in the driv LINDA A. and NAVAL BASE quit. DIXIE VIXEN ran up behind horses on the stretch turn, came to the outside and then finished wel HIGH HATTER was unable to keep up after a good start, lost ground swinging wide rounding horses int the stretch, then closed determinedly. LOT OHONEY saved ground, but did not menace. QUISAS made u some distance late. BAYOU ROSE was not asked for speed. G00DLAND GAL faltered. ED ELLS GAL bor out badly on the stretch turn. FIGHTING FLEET was under stead handling while maintaining his own pace, remained on the outside while gradually wearing down the leader and, responding to light punishment in the drive, put away BIMFORT and drew out. BIMFORT, carried wid by GIGGLE on the first turn, easily obtained command at the half mile, but was under pressure to draw cleai then could not handle the winner under punishment in the drive. SEA GRASS was rated behind the bunche field and was not abused when unable to menace. MISS NIMBLE raced along freely while repulsing bids from CHRISINDA, shook off that one, then could offer no resistance to the winner, but clearly bested the others. SINGING BEAUTY was unable to contend early, but saved ground and passed tiring horses. GINGER D. was outrun. The remainder faltered. Won ridden out; second and third driving. NORTHERN STAR found a large opening on the inside rounding the final turn, was quickly hustled forward and took command at the head of the stretch, then drew out under punishment and was going away at the end. SENATOR JOE began alertly, opened a clear lead on the turn, but raced slightly wide into the stretch and, while no match for the winner, gamely held WAR KING safe. The latter appeared ouchy going postward, lost distance racing on the outside throughout, but closed gamely at the end SHEILAS REWARD lacked speed away from the gate and was always racing between horses, came wide into the stretch and lacked a rally, then pulled up lame in his left front leg HI BILLEE could not outsprint SENATOR JOE and faltered. NAVY FLASH had the most speed, readily gave way to the winner after a half mile and faltered. FLEET ACE was under pressure while racing forwardly placed and weakened. BLACK AND BLUE lacked a rally. SNOWFLARES, showing better speed than usual, raced with the first flight from the start, rapidly drew out when roused on the final turn and won with something left. POMANDER was well placed, appeared dangerous coming around horses on the stretch turn, but then was no menace to the winner. RESOJET was a prominent factor, but weakened.
