I., June 25. — One horse who will attract no little attention at the Narragansett meeting opening Monday is Jim Beatties English-bred Good Shot, who raced for the late King George VI. and who has been working in splendid fashion over the local course. The 5,000 Providence Stakes is the principal objective the Beattie campaigner. Beattie bought the son of Big Game out Fair Profits at the Newmarket sales last fall and had him shipped to his extensive farm in Washington, R. I., in November. There he has been brought along carefully by trainer Augie Hutchins who gave him plenty of time to recover from the sea voyage. Until Narragansett opened its stables, Good Shot and other Beattie horses have been training this spring over the training track on the farm. They were all brought to Narragansett last week. Good Shot was never out of the money in his five starts in the silks of the King last year. He won two races, was second in two more and third in the other. King George watched him win one of his races on television, being too ill at the ti*ie to go to the track. The colts sire won the Two Thousand Guineas, one of Englands three great classics, as well as other important races. The other Beattie horses now quartered Narragansett are Fred G.. Dorothy G., Lady Finn, Notts Forest, Jacks Neen, Time for Speed, Park Dandy and Oplin.
