Domquils Fast Finish Brings Victory at Suffolk Downs SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 25. — Domquil, a dark gray son of Four Freedoms — Jonquil, sporting the silks of Mrs. M. J. Bresnahan Jr., may have earned himself a starting berth in Saturdays Mayflower Stakes, the closing day feature here. Racing like a two-year-old who will improve as the distances are stretched out, Domquil closed resolutely through the stretch to defeat Sam Garfields Dutch Penny in the best offering at Suffolk Downs today. The winners margin was a half length at the end of the five and a half furlong dash, with Irving Gushens Insomnia closing from off the pace to beat the favored C. and S. Tassistros Papa Charlie a half length for the minor award. Purchased at the Lexington fall sales, Domquil brought ,900 for breeder J. Tru-ett, Jr., the largest amount paid for the get of Four Freedoms in that particular vendue. Junior Bresnahan, who trains the colt for his wife, has been patient in conditioning the youngster and his method is paying dividends. In three local starts, Domquil has been third and victorious twice. Each race has been an improvement.
