Zakoor; bred by W. L. Brann. WENT TO POST— 6:14. OFF AT 6:14£ EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won easily; second and third driving. SWYNDOR, showing marked improvement under a change in riders, assumed command soon after the start, made the pace for three-quarters mile under steady rating, then drew out to win as his rider pleased. BASLA, never far back, finished determinedly, but could not threaten the winner, although much the best of the others. EASY MARK raced nearest SWYNDOR to the stretch, then weakened. HI BOB was outrun. PLAY REQUEST was through early. MAGNUS began fast, but dropped back after the start and, after racing fairly well for a half mile, quit. SOME TOWN, in hand to the upper turn, responded readily when set down through the stretch and wore down the leaders during the last seventy yards. BILLCELLA, a forward factor from the start, reached the lead between calls near the finish, but could not withstand the top one. SULTANPEPPER. reserved early, went to the front after five-eighths mile, held a clear lead when settled for the drive, but faltered during the last sixteenth. MUCH PLEASURE lacked early speed and raced on the outside throughout, but finished strongly. JUST-MADE-IT was never dangerous. TREADA BOY lacked early speed. HI-CHROME tired during the drive and was bothered when the strap on his saddle girth became loose. TRANSATLANTIC was never prominent and raced wide. MINNESOTA tired after showing early speed. STIMBORO could not keep up. DREAM COMFORT made the pace for five furlongs, then gave way when challenged by SULTANPEPPER. HALS CHICK quit.
