JOIE DE VIVRE rushed boldly to take command after a half mile, increased margin on the turns and had enough left to hold SALLYS FOLLY safe. The latter improved position steadily, came to the outside for the drive but was not good enough. IRISH PRINCE closed with good energy. QUEEN OF SILKS, slow to settle into stride, moved up on the outside, but was unable to menace. TANNEKE saved ground in a good effort. HONEST KNAVE had no mishap. QUATREFOIL was sluggish in the early stages. BEHOLD tired. WATER BUFFALO was unable to keep up. ASTEROIDE flattened out after being pressed for the early lead. GALLA BABE, reserved within striking distance of the pace until the final quarter mile, finished stoutly on the extreme outside to defeat SHOE SHINE. The latter showed good speed along the inside, getting a clear lead in the stretch. BOLD BRENNAN rallied in the late stages. SEVEN PILLARS broke alertly, dropped off the pace, rallying inside the final furlong. MYTHOLOGICAL showed a good effort. MESL tired after a half mile. SCHOLARSHIP rushed boldly on the final turn, lost ground and weakened through the stretch. GOLUPTIOUS, fractious at the gate, showed nothing. PLEITO was outrun. BEAUTIFUL JANE moved close to the pace before a quarter mile, was steadied until straightened for the drive and was hard ridden to outfinish ULTIMATUM. The latter drew clear soon after the start, maintained the lead most of the trip and held on stubbornly. KITTY S. ranged up on the outside to challenge for the lead entering the stretch, but was not good enough. DARK PEER broke alertly, dropped back and raced evenly. SWEET SIGRID lacked a closing rally. The latter saved ground on the turns and closed with good energy. INSOMNIA, outrun to the final quarter mile, finished stoutly under late pressure. PAPA CHARLIE moved in closest attendance of the pace after a quarter mile, drew on even terms for the lead into the stretch and faltered. BRAVADO was unable to keep up. BULLY BUNTING moved rapidly along the inside to engage for command in the final quarter mile and was pressing to the end. SCIENTIST rallied mildly when sent up on the outside, changed course to the inside through the stretch, but was not good enough. BROTHER MARCH, unable to keep up early, closed ground along the rail. HELEN MAR showed good speed for a half mile and weakened. RANCH HOUSE went evenly. UTOPIA trailed. DAUNTEDID set the pace under light restraint, drifted out badly on the final turn and tired. WATCH UNION forced the pace, but weakened through the stretch. ELAND caught tiring horses.
