PETER LANE, a sharp factor from the start, went to the front when ready and steadily increased his advantage to win with speed in reserve. INDIAN FILE, fractious at the post, was unable to endanger the winner during the late stages, but easily bested the others. SHADOW BOXING failed to sufficiently respond when set down for the drive. PASS was unable to be sternly persevered with during the stretch run after his rider lost his whip. FUSBY, much used early, had little left NATURAL MAN and the others were outrun. STAR SHOW assumed a lengthy early advantage, gave way to the winner at the furlong marker, but held on willingly to outgame ORSINI. The latter, never far back, raced evenly through the stretch without apparent mishap. GLORIOUS EMMA failed to make up appreciable ground. LA CRIMA tired. BIT 0 HOPE was outdistanced early. GALLANT ROY was unable to keep up. DOLLAR BELLE never was prominent. PAGE 0 MUSIC and FOXATION showed nothing. FLAUNT, unhurried when outrun early, moved up with a rush to gain a contending position for the stretch run and after disposing of HITEX held JNDIAN LAND safe. The latter, slow to gain best stride, closed with good courage and gradually was overtaking -"the winner. COUNT TURF, far back to the stretch, slipped through next to the inside rail and closed fastest of all in a sharp effort. HITEX held a clear lead when "settled for the drive, then faltered. ANCESTOR, much .used early, had little left. SWOOP raced forwardly for six furlongs, but tired when shaken. HIGH SCUD began sluggishly. GAY GRECQUE was through early. ASSIGNMENT never threatened. FAMILY MAN, slow to begin, secured ample racing room on the far turn to challenge DUSTY DARLIN when straightened .for the drive and wore down the latter in the final stride. The latter outsprinted her rivals into the first turn, held a clear lead at the furlong marker, then held on tenaciously, just missing. DICTIONARY made up some I ground when hard ridden through the late stages. LUCKEY BULL rallied too late to become an endangering v factor. BEDAZZLE quit. RAMBLING MARY had no mishap.
