CROSS WAVE, forwardly placed while racing nearest FLYING TASSLE to the stretch, assumed command when ready and, drifting out while ridden out, and retarined a clear margin to the finish. BILLS HYGRO lacked early speed, closed strongly under brisk urging but could not reach the winner. NOBILITY, away fast, made a bold bid entering the stretch but faltered when set down in the drive. IN MY BONES was outrun. BLEND SAND was never dangerous. FLYING TASSLE, rank at the post, unseated Jockey Madden and was returned to the paddock for a substitute rider, began alertly and set the pace for a half mile while engaging CROSS WAVE, then gave way. ETERNAL SHOCK, a keen factor from the outset, raced nearest JERRYS GEM to the stretch, took command during the drive and held NUMERICAL safe. NUMERICAL gradually worked way forward, closed strongly under brisk handling but could not overtake the winner, although much the best of the others. SUB FACTOR raced wide to the stretch, was sent to the inside for the drive and finished fairly well under punishment. JERRYS GEM took an early lead, set the pace for three-eighths mile while engaging ETERNAL SHOCK, then weakened. ST. JUDE could not keep up after showing early speed. MAKE A NOTE was never dangerous and raced wide through the stretch. STREET SCENE had brief speed then drifted out while tiring. FIFTH RACE 6 FURLONGS out of chute. FLY LELIA, a sharp factor from the beginning, established a clear lead when settled for the stretch run but was unable to hold the winner, just missing. HEARTS BUZZ began fast, raced well to the stretch but faltered when set down in the drive. DOMAGE failed to rally when hard ridden through the stretch. LEAD PAD began sluggishly, was hustled to reach serious contention, then tired. HEAD EAST raced wide. BABY DEAR quit after engaging FLY LELIA for a half mile. Scratched— 89390 Bull Keys, 113.
