J., June 20. — Duplicating her effort of last week in the Oceanport Handicap, Jouett Shouses streaking bay filly Cinda outran her feminine rivals in the 0,000 added Regret Handicap, coming to the finish under Jimmy Stouts left handed flailing by a length and a half before Hal Price Head-leys lightv/eighted Recover. Third in the field of nine was Mrs. S. M. Pistorios Brazen Brat. For Stout this was a clean sweep of the stake events run so far at the meet. He and Cinda teamed up in the Oceanport on opening day and he won the Omnibus on Closed Door on Wednesday. Cinda was a favorite with the estimated crowd of 22,000 that turned out on a sunny but extremely warm afternoon and paid .40 after covering the six furlongs over the fast track in 1:12%. Joe Notter, wh opiloted Regret, for whom the race was named today, to victory in the Kentucky Derby of 1915, presented owner Shouse with the trophy, while jockey Jimmy Stout and trainer Bernie Bond participated in the ceremonies. Effort Nets 5,850 Purse Cinda earned 5,850 net for her Regret victory, which was her second triumph in this stake, as she won a division of the race last season. The hard-hitting bay filly has now won three of her four starts this year, two of them stakes, while she finished fourth in the Colonial for her only loss of the year. The race was a dilly at best, with horses closely locked going down the backside. They were Recover, Cinda, Blue Rhymer and Versify, and there wasnt much space between them. Brazen Brat and Occupancy were far back. Going to the far turn, Versify was pinched back and took up, eliminating her, * while Cinda an dRecover drew out head of Blue Rhymer. Going around the turn, Cinda had a head lead, and then Recover came on to stick her nose in front. Straightening away for the turn, Stout delivered the whip with his left hand, and Cinda drew away fro mher rival. Nearing the eighth pole; he applied it again, and by this time Cinda had the measure of Recover and was increasing the distance between them. Brazen Brat closed on the outside to miss by a neck for second money, in her late rush, while Occupancy, another who made her move late, was just another nose off the board. Cinda packed 120 pounds in her effort and was giving 18 to her closest competitor, while Atalanta, who was the topweight with 121 finished next to last. The homebred daughter of Occupy — Arden Lass is next staked in the Rumson Handicap on July 22, in which she will take on horses of the other sex.
