Name Rainey Michigan State Steward for Hazel Park Meet DETROIT, Mich., June 20. — Calvin Rainey has been appointed to serve as the Michigan state steward during the Hazel Park meeting, which opens August 6, it was announced today by commissioner James H. Inglis. In a letter addressed to Waldo Andrews, vice-president of the Hazel Park Association, advising him of Raineys appointment, Inglis noted that The Jockey Club official comes to Detroit with the highest recommendations from both Marshall Cassidy and Spencer Drayton. Hazel Park was granted dates some weeks ago following the Michigan Supreme Court order directing that they be allotted. With the announcement that Rainey will serve as state steward, the Hazel Park club announced that it has appointed Lewis Walter, the regular state steward, to serve as an association steward during its meet.
