GANDER raced with the pace from the start and drew clear through the stretch to win with speed -to spare. WAR DOINGS closed willingly, but failed to menace the winner. FIRST WATCH wore down tired horses, as did LOUGH REE. FIRST JO-AL faltered through the stretch. CONFUSER was in close quarters while full of run through the stretch. GLEEK lacked a closing surge and came out of the race in a lame condition. FLICKA STAR failed to attain prominence after breaking slowing. MR. SNOOP could not keep up, nor could DON JR. ADOPT, sluggish early and slow to respond to urging, closed with a belated burst of speed. BANTA held a favorable position and weakened. STARECASE flattened out badly after a half mile. SPRING GROVE, steadied just off the leaders, raced on the extreme outside while contesting the lead through the stretch and fought it out gamely. The latter, in contention from the start, assumed the lead between calls in the stretch and weakened at the end. LADY ADVOCATE saved ground along the inside to gain the lead in the stretch and tired. WARPATH was hustled in the early part to attain the lead and stopped in the stretch. GINGER BOOTS, within striking distance in the early stages, gave way after three-quarters of a mile.
