Illinois Notes FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., June 20. . Apprentice Bobby Bennett became a full fledged jockey Thursday night when he piloted D. Koonces Juliets Bay to an easy victory in the ninth race. The Hartford, Ky., booter started his career at the local oval two years ago. Tom Schatz departed for Denvers Centennial track with the consistent Wittfield. John Beck spent Thursday at the local course. Beck was a candidate for the vice-presidency of the midwest division of the HBPA. Robert Cameron also a candidate on the HBPA slate was also here from Detroit. Both members returned to Chicago after the election. Jockey Herbert Litzenberger returned to the saddle after encountering a brief siege of illness and accepted five mounts on Thursdays program. The veteran California reinsman is returning to top form after a two year, lay off. The opening of the present meeting found four double apprentice riders making their debut at Fairmount Park. During the first 20 days of racing only one thus far has been successful in riding his winner and this lad is Eddie Hammond, the others being Charles Daigrepont, L. Sprag-gins and B. Browning. Trainer Heine Hinds departs for Centennial in Denver on Monday with the handicap mare Lady Lancaster.
