Final River Downs Race Delayed RIVER DOWNS, Cincinnati, Ohio, June 14. — Post time for the eighth and final race here Monday was delayed considerably. Most often this is caused by an unruly thoroughbred acting up in the paddock but yesterday afternoon the American Tote broke down, as it were. Because of the mechanical difficulty no approximate odds were flashed prior to the running of the event. The scattered fans were pleasantly surprised following the running of the mile and one-sixteenth event, which was won by Jack Hodges Katama, when a 4.00, 2.20 and .40 across the board mutuel was posted. It is reported that this is one of the few times in the history of the "tote" that such a mechanical breakdown has occurred.
