Rogers to Handle Cayanaugh Filly Trainer John T. Kermath reports that George Cava-naughs fine filly, Blue Violin,.winner of her two starts here, including the Honeymoon Stakes, will be flown to Delaware Park Sunday and will be a starter in the New Castle Handicap, a filly-and-mare race at that track, June 25. She will remain at the Delaware course to compete in the rich Delaware Handicap on July 2, following which she will, in all likelihood, be returned to the Chicago area. Jockey Chris Rogers has been engaged to ride Blue Violin in both races. . . . Bunker Hunt, of Dallas, Texas, and Ed Stevenson, of New York, were arrivals. They are the owners of the Sand Hills Stable here, in charge of the veteran conditioner, Tom Smith. ... It has been announced that the Arlington Park main track will be closed to all training activities when an "off" racing strip prevails. Although they have many years of experience behind t.hem ionkpvs .Tohnnv Adams and Steve Brooks. the leading riders here, are always seeking to learn. When the racing strip is in poor condition, the "boys" toiir it each morning, selecting what appears to be the best going and looking for bad spots. Perhaps that is why they are the leading jockeys. . . . The schedules for train travel to Arlington Park are to hand. First special will leave the station each day, with the exception of Saturdays, at 12:15. Saturdays at 11:25. Heres cinders in your eye. . . . Trainer Hilton Dabson has announced that jockey John Choquette will ride Nances Lad in the colts engagements here. Choquette hails from Roxton Pond, Canada, wherever that is. Maine Chance Stables Jet Action was due in Monday, but plane accommodations were not available. May be along later. ... If any owner has a horse he would like to send over the two-mile route for a 0,-000 purse, he might seek an invitation by writing the ThistleDown Jockey Club, where the 16-furlong marathon will be staged July 2. . . . Jockey Leslie Wickel will leave for Cleveland this Saturday to ride Lucient in a stake at that point. He has also been engaged to pilot Manassas in a two-year-old added money feature at the same course on Independence Day. . . . Speedy Foot has been sent to Detroit to run for T. A. Grissom. .... The Calumet Stable and Mrs.Jospeh A. Tomlin-son horses were to be transferred to Arlington Park Tuesday-: Each string is trained by Jimmy Jones, but not the same Jimmy Jones.
