Jack Stevens Son, Dr. John, Graduates From University DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 14. — Jack Stevens, announcer at the Detroit Race Course, flew to Boston over the week end for the graduation from Tufts University of his son, Dr. John Joseph Stevens. Dr. Stevens, who took his pre-med at Boston College cum laude, was graduated with honors from Tufts and elected a member of the Medical Honor Society,, Alpha Omega Alpha. He will serve his internship at the United States Naval Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland, starting June 28. Dr. Stevens is a lieutenant in the U. S. Naval Reserve Medical Corps. More than 900 students graduated from Tufts Sunday. The famed writer and poet. Car] Sandburg was given an honorary degree during the ceremonies. Senator Margaret Chase Smith, of Maine, delivered the principal address. Mrs. Stevens flew back to Detroit with Jack after the graduation.
