BRANIFF, badly outrun early, circled her field ti when rallying on the second turn and wore down the leaders in midstretch. NEVERSINK followed in closest pursuit of the pacemaker, was blocked when that one drifted out entering the stretch and, when straightened away, finished with good courage. SUKY SUSIE commenced to advance after going a half mile and, after making a bold bid in the early stretch, hung only slightly in the final drive. JIFFY saved ground and faltered in the final furlong. Won driving; second and third the same. NOWS THE TIME, unhurried for the first six furlongs, moved through between horses when rallying in the early stretch and were down ISAY0LB0Y near the end. The latter attained a striking position early, saved ground to the stretch here he was eased out to engage MR. AUGUST and, after wresting command between calls, he was not quite good enough. The latter engaged COUNTERPARTY early, put that one away after going five-eighths and while saving ground he gave way suddenly in the final drive. LADY REDBIRD made up some ground but could not seriously threaten. GINNY GANDE was prominent for six furlongs. COUNTERPARTY tired from his pacemaking efforts.
