Indians Assign Five Players To Clubs Within Farm System CLEVELAND, Ohio, June 14 UP .—The Cleveland- Indians today announced the signing of five players to be assigned to clubs within their farm system. Shortstop Ken Kane and pitcher John Kelly of the University of Washington were signed by veteran scout Cy Slapnicka for assignment to Yakima, Wash., of the class B Northwest League. Catcher Edmund Zander of Yakima high school has been assigned to Keokuk in the class B Three I League. Catcher Andres Pereiara and pitcher Lazaro Rivero, boh Cubans, were signed by the Indians Caribbean area scout Mon Hy De Arcos. Pereiara will play with Vidalia, Ga., in the class D Georgia State league and Rivero will go to the Lafayette, Ind., team in the class D Mississippi-Ohio Valley League.
