At Ak-Sar-Ben Today Ten Sophomores to Travel Route First Time; Coliseo Topweighted By PAT CAUDILL Staff Correspondent AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 14.— Three-year-olds will be in the limelight Wednesday as 10 of the top grade sophomores here line up for the Ak-Sar-Ben Ambassador Handicap. The event offers a purse of ,000 and will be contested over the middle distance of one mile and 70 yards with each of the contestants making their first attempt of the meeting at the longer distance. The Double "L" Farms Coliseo has been assigned top weight of 116 pounds and will be handled by jockey Tommy Bates. This good-looking son of Amphitheatre — Ge-nevra M. has been racing close in each of his three outings over the local oval with his latest attempt seeing him finishing second to Y Bond in the Ak-Sar-Ben Kings Plate Handicap last Wednesday. He has been closing strongly in his attempts here and the added distance should be to his advantage in tomorrows endeavor. Pepper L. and Eddie Cole will comprise an entry to represent the partnership of W. D. Rorick and L. O. Lane and this pair is certain to draw a goodly share of support from the wagering fans inasmuch ands Fep-perL. remains undefeated and will seek her third victory. She was quite impressive in an allowance race on Saturday when she outgamed the highly regarded Dog Fish to chalk up her upset score. Jockey Robert Mundorf will handle the daughter of Revoked and she has been assigned 114 pounds, while her stablemate is the lightest weight of the field with 100 pounds. The co-feature of the afternoon will be the West Point Purse, an allowance event at the sprint distance of five and one-half furlongs, bringing together 11 fleet sprinters in quest of the ,400 purse.
