Triumphant and Paytu Work Well at Detroit Each Goes Half Mile Over Muddy Strip for Bull Dog Hi-Weight DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 22. — Henry Forrests Triumphant, a recent winner at the local track, and Fred W. Jansons Paytu, .who shipped in from Chicago, trained this morning for their Saturday engagements in the Bull Dog Hi-Weight Handicap. Paytu worked four furlongs over the muddy strip in :49% handily, while Triumphant breezed a like distance in :51; Triumphant has been assigned 130 pounds for the five and one-half furlongs week-end stake, while Paytu is pegged at 128 pounds. Present indications point to a field of at least 10 starters in the Bull Dog Hi-Weight: Ralph Lowes Pictus, Triumphant, Paytu, Ivan D. Peats Sun Tan Gal, Mrs. V. E. Smiths Lori-Jane, Arthur Roses Vie, David Singers Hangover, Mrs. Joseph Tomlinsons Blackamoor, Thomas F. Devereux homebred Greatest, and I. J. Collins Fair Pilot, among others. There is a possibility that Reverie Knoll Farms Mon-Pharo may come over from Chicago for the Saturday dash, and the Milton and Samuel Shagrin-owned pair, Big Money and Shag Tails, now at Thistle-Down, also are probable Bull Dog Hi-Weight Handicap starters.
