f LOUISVILLE TURF NOTES $ — — 1 LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 1. James McGee, a recent arrival from Maryland, took up Fly Hawk, which was turned out the past winter. F. F. Brant, another who checked in this week from Maryand, bringing San Presto, Eil-Weir and Tommy, took over Jack Horgan, which has been in training at Douglas Park for five weeks. He sent Bully to Edwin K. Thomas" farm, where he will be turned out. James Everman turned over fifteen horses, property of the Himyar Stud, to A. Pelle-teri, New Orleans horseman, who developed the crack Proteus, winner of the Idle Hour Stakes at Lexington Wednesday. Everman sent Balzar to Lexington, where he will be kept in training. Just as everyone expected, jockey Nick Huff has reaffiliated with the E. B. McLean stable here in charge of John F. Schorr. The stable also has a call on James McCoy. The horses Phil Reuter brought from Maryland are quartered at Churchill Downs. He brought Negodale, winner of five successive races, Nostaw, First Mission, Our Johnny and otners. the property of Misa Blanche Watson; Laura Negley, Escoba Land and Doctor Happy, owned by Mrs. C. E. Simmons, and his own Galahad. Volt Meter and Brown Eyed Mary. In addition to those named, Reuter will train and race Queens Pal, Blanc Seing and Ruby Dear for Miss Watson, while the same patroness will race ten others at the smaller tracks in charge of R. D. Carter, negro trainer. The eleven horses of Joseph Leiter, including Princess Ivre, winner of the Hinata Stakes, which campaigned at Lexington, arrived at Douglas Park and were quartered with the other horses owned by that Chicago patron. Mr. Leiter is returning to Louisville from Lexington tomorrow.
