MARTHA COLE acted badly at the post and refused to start with the others. LA BELOTTE. quick to begin, took a good lead after leaving the back stretch and, although tiring, lasted to hold BOCARATONE safe. The latter, fractious at the post, began slowly, but gained steadily and was wearing down the winner. THOMAS SETH showed early speed and lasted to hold the others safe. MY SWEETS saved ground where possible. RED SPIDER tired "after showing early speed. WATER PORT was in close quarters after the start. ALTO reared up after the start, causing his rider to lose both stirrups. GOLD STEP, close to the pace from the start, came wide on the stretch turn and, coming across sharply at mid stretch, bumped and interfered with T. S. JORDAN, knocking the latter off stride, for which he was disqualitied. T. S. JORDAN set the pace and. despite the interference, raced gamely to the end. CELTIC PRINCE met with interference in the stretch. PRINCETON was always close up. GRACIOUS GIFT saved ground on the stretch turn and closed fast. LAMP BLACK could not keep up.
