T AURORA TURF NOTES — . . • AURORA. 111., May 1. The new club house provides a cross-section of Chicago, social, business and political life, and many prominent people who had never visited Aurora before expressed astonishment and pleasure at the beautiful plant. Lieutenant Governor Fred Sterling, an ardent race fan, was among those in the club house, as were Senator Ed Hughes of Chicago, Senator Richard Barr of Joliet and Senator H. G. Wright of DeKalb, to say nothing of some hundred Chicago politicians of lesser fame. Stuyvesant Peabody was on hand to watch his T. S. Jordan perform in the feature. President John Schank of Hawthorne, judge Joseph A. Murphy, general manager, and Charley Bidwell. of the Illinois Turf Association, were discerned in one club house group. _ 4
