t LOUISVILLE TURF NOTES f 4 ; ft LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 1. Former jockey Willie Hoag has Camp Life and Charboy, two-year-olds, and the three-year-old Gettin Even at Douglas Park for Irvin P. Krick, Chicago enthusiast, who purchased them at Lexington three weeks ago. A. E. Van Ree arrived- from Maryland with the horses Perkins and Stupendous, the former almost fully recovered from injuries received in an accident, is back in training. Apprentice Don Meade, under engagement to the Watson-Reuter Stable, will resume riding here Saturday. Trainer Walter Taylor brought twenty-one of the H. P. Headley horses from the latters Beaumont Farm, and they found quarters at Churchill Downs. Other arrivals included five, the property of Collins and Hart, which joined the main division of the stable transferred from Lexington several days back, six owned by Colonel R. L. Baker, nine in charge of C. C. Van Meter, and four to race for Looney and Jones. Johnny Daniels, trainer of Charles Bacha-rachs Southland Stable, engaged Willie Garner to ride Playtime in the Clark Handicap Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bacharach are due Friday from New Orleans and will remain throughout the Downs meeting. Clyde Van Dusen reported the foaling of a brown colt by Flying Ebony — Six Sixty at his Few Acres Farm. The youngster and his dam are owned by H. P. Gardner. John Anthony, who has some of the H. Massey horses at Douglas Park, is reported seriously ill. He suffered a hemorrhage Wednesday. He served as assistant starter at Oriental Park last winter, and his father, E. C. Anthony, is trainer of the Massey Stable. The horses of A. L. Ferguson, John Goode and J. M. Reed are among those to be vanned from Lexington tomorrow. John Lowe is transferring twenty-one from C. B. Shaffers Coldstream Farm Saturday, and upon their arrival here will turn C. V. Whitneys Murky Cloud, Angry and two two-year-olds over to Mose Goldblatt. Gosling, also owned by Mr. Whitney and raced by trainer Lowe, is to be turned out. Jockey Herb Fisher, with the Gallaher and Combs Stable, motored from Lexington and looked aft_er arrangements for the reception of the stable here tomorrow. Ten horses, the property of William Zieg-ler, Jr., and in charge of trainer Clyde Phillips, will be shipped here from Maryland, according to word received at the track today. Ziegler colors may be seen in most of the stakes and the Kentucky Derby here. Levante, Ilium and Phantom Star are the Ziegler Derby eligibles, while Spinach is a probable starter in the Grainger Memorial Handicap. A. A. Baroni, with a stable of fifteen, is due from California tomorrow. His band includes Upright, eligible for the Kentucky Derby. After racing for two years in Canada, E. H. Von Roenn has decided to ship to Washington Park following the close here. Following that meeting he may remain in Illinois for the meetings to follow.
