EQUIPOISE GETS SLOW JOG BALTIMORE, Md., May 1.— C. V. Whitneys Equipoise, favorite for the Preakness and the Kentucky Derby, accompanied by the stables lead pony, jogged once around the mile and an eighth course and acted like a yearling. He looks fit and when he works next Wednesday afternoon between races, fans will get a chance to judge for ■ themselves whether he will win the closing feature of the meeting or whether his recent sickness has dimmed his speed.
