Won driving; second and third the same. LINESMAN had good speed from the beginning and, saving ground all the way, came through on the inside to outlast DON CARLOS under vigorous handling. The latter, outrun early, came with a rush in the last quarter and was wearing down the winner at every stride, just failing to get up. FLYING START closed a big gap. HEY KELLY forced the early pace, took command entering the stretch, but quit badly in the last eighth. WRACKALA lacked his usual speed. FLEUR SAUVAGE had speed for three-eighths. TOP SHOT, rated in close attendance of the pace for three-eighths, came to the outside for the stretch run and, wearing down the leaders with ease, drew out in the last seventy yards. SISTER CLARE had speed from the start, set the early pace, gave way to THUNDERDROP in the stretch, came again in the last eighth and appeared to need the effort badly. THUNDERDROP, sluggish at the start, was rushed up on the outside early, took command in the stretch, but tired badly. SOCIAL could never reach contention. TUFINUF had early speed. PEPPER PRINCE, rated close to the pace, closed willingly, but was not good enough. SOPHRON went evenly. MASTER BOBBIE set the early pace, but tired in the last eighth. CHANGEABLE, well placed throughout, moved into command in the stretch, but was no match for the winner. PARADISE MAID raced on the outside of the leaders in the early running, moved up threateningly entering the stretch, dropped back, then came on again Hearing the finish. Won handily ; second and third driving, ELDEE, away fast, shook off JEAN PITTSTON in the opening quarter mile, took command rounding the turn, was taken in hand and, rated along in the lead, drew away in the closing eighth and won handily. PESTLE broke in motion and, well placed throughout, closed stoutly through the stretch and outgamed SCARA GLEN. The latter,- rated close to the pace the first half mile, moved up with a rush in the stretch and held on well. JEAN PITTSTON forced the pace from the start and weakened in the last eighth.
