L., a. recent arrival from Detroit, made her local debut before Beulah Park patrons and romped through the stretch to a handy victory in the August Wagner Handicap, featured event of the concluding days racing this afternoon. Sil-verette proved to be easily best of the others. Charles Resch made the presentation of the huge August Wagner trophy to F. Perry, trainer of the winner, with the usual fitting remarks. Ideal conditions prevailed, and an excellent crowd witnessed the sport. Sun Lily and Bea M. led throughout in their respective races, but the former barely lasted. Royal Rock just got up in the last few yards of the second race. By saving ground in the stretch as the leaders ran out, Lady Sweet scored a rather lucky victory in the third. A majority of the best horses which took part in this meeting will be shipped to Bainbridge Park at Cleveland, including I. J. Collins, eight head; R. Shepp, five; E. D. Slavin, five; R. F. Tice, four, and E. Meyers, three. The Slavin stable left for the Cleveland course this evening.
