SALLIE GRAY, on the inside throughout, offered a mild bid, but was no match for the winner. BILLIES ORPHAN lost much ground throughout and was weakly handled in the drive. JANE BRUSH forced the pace for a half mile, then tired. BEAU DIS dropped back after a quarter mile, then raced evenly thereafter. SUNSHINE BOY had no excuse. BUSY JAY showed nothing1. LANCEWOOD, taken in hand for the early racing, responded gamely to strong pressure, overhauled the leaders a sixteenth out, then drew out to win in hand. ULRICA, well up for a quarter, dropped back, but rallied to strong riding and closed gamely, though no match for the winner. NORDRIE, a strong factor after reaching the stretch, finished gamely. PRINCE FELLOW displayed good early speed, but failed to keep up. GREY NOSE quit. EARLY CALL could not improve his position under strong riding. DORAN was outrun. PRINCE DANNY showed nothing. LADY PAL could not keep up. YANKEE WATERS failed to reach contention, OUR SAMMY trailed throughout. , BRILLIANT ROSE was eased up when eliminated. Overweight Manners Man, 2 pounds. ICEBERG, under reserve for three-quarters, failed to keep up wheh urged. STAR BUD raced well for three-quarters, then tired. WHISKOLO raced evenly for a half mile, moved up thereafter, gained gradually under pressure, but could not overhaul the winner. BEAVER DAM, a strong factor most of the way, weakened after getting to the front, SCARP, slow to get going, gained steadily pfter a half mile and closed gamely in a good performance. GILLIE, close to the pace for three-quarters, lost ground in the stretch, where he met interference, but was beaten at the time. BLACKBIRDER, rank at the post, broke slowly and failed to reach contention. McCARTHY raced well for a half mile. THE MAULER quit after setting the early .pace. SUMMIT HILL was done early. JAWAPA, prominent throughout, closed gamely, but was no menace to the first two. MY BLAZE raced into a long early lead, held on well to the final eighth and was racing strongly when forced to pull up when FIJI came over sharply.
