PROGRESS AT SUFFOLK DOWNS BOSTON, Mass., June 1. Considerable satisfaction in the progress being made in the construction of Suffolk Downs horse race track in East Boston was expressed yesterday by Governor Curley in a conference with newspapermen. "This morning I paid a visit to Suffolk Downs," said the governor, "and it seemed good to see the rapidity with which the track, is being constructed. They have a total of 3,000 men employed over there, 1,000 on each of three shifts. From all indications, it looks as though the track will open on time. The construction of the track will change the character and complexion of the site, all for the better."
