Won easily; second and third driving.,, WASSAIL had the most speed from the start, was steadied around the turn and, strongly shaken up after increasing his margin in the stretch, won with little left. DARK THOUGHTS failed to keep up on. the turn, raced to the outside in the stretch and, closing with good speed, withstood a rush from RED SPIDER. The latter, permitted to remain far out of it until reaching the stretch, finished with a rush and might have been a sronger factor under a better-judged ride. BUSY LAD tired. SWEET PEARL began slowly. SECRET MISSION quit. VIPER faltered in the drive, . . Scratched 11216 Blon Star, 107. DON PABLO, forced to race wide throughout, disposed of RUFFDAY quickly in the stretch and, finishing fast, was getting to the winner. RUFFDAY was under vigorous riding after reaching the final half mile and weakened in the last eighth. ON TRIAL went evenly. VISIONARY saved ground much of the trip, but did not threaten. The latter, under steady restraint for three-quarters, gained gradually under strong pressure in the last three-sixteenths and was wearing down the winner. NISIA displayed good speed from the start, but weakened. DAVID W. failed to keep up and pulled up lame. TRANSCALL had no excuses. SLIP KNOT dropped out of it after three-eighths.
