SEABISCUIT, closer up than usual jn the early stages, followed in closest attendance of the winner practically the entire journey and continued with good, energy to . the Finish. SOBRIETY, away fast, lacked speed to keep up with the winner, though racing prominently placed throughout. TUGBOAT FRANK, slow to begin and outrun badly until the last three-sixteenths, closed stoutly on the outside. SEA TED "raced evenly all the way. ARMFUL tired under punishment. JAMES RIVER raced into contention with a rush after going the first eighth, closed determinedly to the finish, though unable to reach the winner. CYNWYD raced stoutly on the outside through the last sixteenth. FAIR VERBENA closed a big gap in the final eighth. DE VALERA, well placed early faltered under urging. VICAR drew clear in the run to the first turn, was rated along under slight restraint, withstood a determined early bid from LEGIONARY and held DOGMATA safe at the finish. DOGMATA, under slight reserve while following the pace, made a determined effort to reach the leaders, but was not good enough, though holding on stoutly at the end. LYNX EYE, slow as usual to begin, worked his way up steadily on the outside in the last three-eighths, but was unable to threaten the leaders in the drive. GALLANT MAC, well placed all the way, was unable to improve his position under punishment. OUR COUNT went evenly throughout. MADDEST, outrun for the first seven-eighths, closed an immense gap in the stretch run. TERALICE tired. THOMASVILLE was never prominent. IDLE ALONG, well placed all the way, was steadied back of the leader, responded gamely to punishment, but was not quite good enough. MARCELLA H., outrun for the first three-quarters, closed stoutly, though unable to threaten the first two. OSCILLATION, reserved early, loomed up threateningly when saving ground at the stretch turn, but was unable to maintain her position, dropping back steadily in the last eighth. TARTAN BETSY, away well, was permitted to drop back in the run down the back stretch, closed in determined fashion and was up in the last strides to take the place. BOBBY BUXTON had the most speed, was rated along in front and held on better than usual in the drive. DANCING MACK forced the pace and, placed under punishment, was unable to reach the leaders and weakened slightly at the end. PALATINE, outrun early, closed with a belated rush. CARSONO, restrained while racing forwardly placed, moved up stoutly when called on in the last five-sixteenths, wore down THE POTTER in the stretch to take the lead, but just lasted to stall off POLO BAR. POLO BAR, restrained until the last three-eighths, closed with a rush through the stretch and would probably have been the winner in a few more strides. SALUT DAMOUR, rated along in front under stout restraint, continued gamely when displaced from the lead and was along right at the close to take third over THE POTTER. THE POTTER, on the outside all the way, went to the front nearing the far turn only to weaken when challenged by the winner. ZEMBLA could never enter into contention. Scratched 10976Top High, 111.
