CHICKLING moved up steadily on the outside after rounding the far turn, responded gamely to hard urging and was up in the last thirty yards to wear down HI-VIC. The latter, prominently placed all the way,-fought it out for the lead with SATURN, knocked the latter back in the stretch and, despite holding on well,J was unable to stave off the winner. BERGERE closed a big gap, but was unable to threaten the leaders. TRAUWINA, away well, lacked speed to keep pace and came again in the last eighth. SATURN displayed good speed, was interfered with sharply in the stretch and dropped back steadily, FOXO was outrun,, SLEEP WELL tired. SECOND RACE 3-4 MELE Out of Chute. SUN TEATIME was reserved within striking distance of the early leaders, came to the outside in the stretch and, closing stoutly, was up in the last sixteenth. GOOD OMEN displayed good speed from the start, was hard ridden to dispose of PARVA STELLA and was unable to keep pace in the closing drive. AEGIS, unable to reach the leaders, would not extend himself fullv during the first half mile and wore down the tiring PARVA STELLA in the last few strides. PARVA STELLA showed good speed, was unable to shake off GOOD OMEN and tired in the stretch. CARP was far back throughout. Scratched 27025 Jim John, 113. MAPLE QUEEN drew away into a good lead in the run down the back stretch, increased her advantage steadily and was never threatened, winning with consummate ease. OUT BOUND improved his position steadily, came through on the inside leaving the back stretch and closed with good energy through the stretch. DIRIGIBLE, fortunate in gaining clear sailing throughout, finished with good energy. FORCED LANDING, well placed, was unable to make up any ground in the stretch drive. CURRANTS was unable to reach the leaders. SOPHIST was never a threat after being away slowly. GREYBROOM and MEROVECH outbroke their company, but both riders began to pull up when they thought it was not a start. They failed to enter contention thereafter. TUXPAN quit badly. TORNADIC. slow to get under way, moved up with a rush on the inside leaving the back stretch, wore down DIABLERIE inside the last eighth -and was going away at the end. DIABLERIE raced into the lead with a rush after going the first five-sixteenths and, while holding on stubbornly in the drive, was not good enough for the winner. BLIND BROOK, hard ridden in an effort to keep up, closed stoutly in the stretch run. GIFT OF ROSES, well placed, tired after going a half mile. ZULU LAD was well placed, then tired after going a half mile. MAIDEN DREAM had brief early speed. Overweight Maiden Dream, 3 pounds. FIFTH RACE 5-8 MILE. Silver Cord, Sept. 23, 1933-58 if, 6 103. PEGOTTY ANN broke rapidly, was hustled to get to the front and drew clear before reaching the far turn, increased her advantage steadily and was kept under pressure through the stretch to hold CONSERVATIVE safe. The latter, in closest pursuit of the leader from practically the beginning, closed determinedly, but was not good enough. DROWSY closed a big gap and held on stoutly in the closing drive. YODEL dwelt when the start came, moved up with good energy and delivered a sparkling effort. NO DICE was unable to reach the leaders. PREVARICATE was far back throughout. BUBBLESOME lost ground around the first turn, moved up stoutly on the outside in the back stretch, gained the lead midway of the turn and just failed to last. FURFIBER could never enter into contention. GLYNSON displayed speed for the first three-quarters, tiring thereafter. UP AND UP retired in the last half mile. SUN ABBOT was steadied along within striking distance of the pace responded gamely when called upon and held on gamely to the close. REGIS PLAY was unable to keep ud early, then closed with a belated rush. ORTHOPRISM was taken lack of the pace, made up some ground in the last quarter mile, but was unable to threaten the leaders. CAMP PAROLE was much used in racing with SMEAR and faltered through the stretch. SMEAR was unable to shake off CAMP PAROLE -nd quit badly. Scratched 26759 Coming Back, 106.
