RELIANT had the most speed throughout, but had to be hard ridden through the last eighth to last and was quickly disqualified for a foul. HOLLBIT, back some distance early, closed with a rush in the stretch and just failed to get up. BESS TAM, prominent throughout, appeared to suffer some interference at the stretch turn and finished gamely. NO DUST showed early speed, only to tire slightly at the end. MONTANA closed some ground without improving its position. SHEATHE was never a threat. LANDSCAPE was always last. Overweight Landscape, 1 pound. SECOND RACE 5 1-2 FURLONGS. PEGGY MINE was second throughout, but was no match for the winner. MISS MARX steadily improved her position and was going well at the end. STILL DARK, far back in the carlv running, finished gamely. SOCIAL ERROR had early speed, faltering slightly in the stretch. GAY NELLIE raced evenly. STOLEN TRICKS had no excuses. SINGED was slow leaving the start and can do much better. SUN TEMPEST had good early speed, wrested the lead from ST. NICK rounding the far turn, but tired slightly when the real lest came. ST. NICK, quickest to get in stride, set a good pace for half the journey, then "quit at the end. TAMBOV, well placed, could not improve under urging. SIMPLE SINGER trailed the field to the stretch and closed with a belated rush. BALMACAN did not have its usual early speed. LITTLE HONEY lost ground all the way. Overweieht Swift Queen, 4 pounds. MISS ALPHONSO, back some distance the first half mile, came with her usual rush and just failed to get up. AIRWAY gained ground all the way, finishing gamely. JIM BROWN, kicked by SOUND MONEY on the way to the post, was used up in the early racing and quit near the end. CRESTON lost ground throughout. SIX BELLS did not run his best race. LUCK IN, showing the best speed from the start, sprinted into the lead at once, was steadied along in front, moving away again in the stretch when the field started to close up. TENLESS was always second, but could not improve after repeated attempts, but was much the best of the others. OUR SHIP gained ground while running on the inner rail in the back stretch, had to take up coming to the outside at the far turn, losing much ground, came again willingly, but had too much taken out of him and could not improve.
