1 LONG BRANCH TURF NOTES $ Before departing- for Suffolk Downs with the J. U. Gratton horses on Wednesday, J. P. Mayberry, trainer of that establishment, acted for his employer in selling- the two-year-old Margo B. to H. M. Henderson. The claiming rule in operation at Long Branch stipulates that all claims for the entire day must be deposited before 2 p. m. each day and that no other claims will be accepted after that hour. Thirty-eight riders registered with R. Pollard, custodian of the jockeys room, to ride during the present meeting at Long Branch. Ten members of the H. C. Hatch stable, destined for racing at Polo Park in Western Canada, left via the Canadian Northern Railway on Wednesday in charge of W. H. Springloe. Seven new sets of saddle cloths were purchased by the Long Branch Jockey Club and placed in use on opening day. Paul Ciceri came down from Hamilton to interest horsemen in the forthcoming meet- ing to be staged at that ambitious citys plant. The draft of conditions for the seven-day meeting, to be staged by the Metropolitan Jockey Club at Dufferin Park, has been sent to the printers for publication and is expected to be ready for distribution on Friday of this week. It was made known here Wednesday that the Electo-foto-finish camera, to be used at Dufferin Park, will be placed atop the stewards stand.
