MYRTLEWOOD ARRIVES . j j FOR SPRINT HANDICAP j 1 The rumor that Myrtlewood would not be here to fill her engagement in the Hawthorne Sprint Handicap was spiked Wednesday morning when she arrived with others of the Brownell -Combs-stable, in charge of trainer Ray Kindred. The seven horses in the shipment, which included Myrtlewood and Grand Duke, were given quarters at Hawthorne, supplanting the horses of Mrs. S. Orr, which were transferred to Aurora Wednesday morning. Kindredmade an eleventh hour change in ,-. plans for Myrtlewoods Saturday engagement and decided to send the crack sprinter and others under his supervision to Hawthorne. Myrtlewood, prior to leaving Latonia, turned in an impressive workout and will be seen in action at the Cicero track in the Hawthorne Sprint Handicap Saturday, instead of the Enquirer Handicap over the mile and a sixteenth route, as previously planned. Those accompanying the fleet daughter of Blue Larkspur to Hawthorne were Grand Duke and the juveniles, Spurlin, Woodberry, Beauty Sleep, Ocala and Big Mum. The latter two youngsters named have not yet been seen in actual competition.
