Narragansett park stakes twenty Feature Eaces With 7,-500 in Added Money Offered for Summer Meeting. PAWTUCKET, R. I., June 10. Twenty stake races, comprising twelve renewals and eight inaugurals, will provide the high lights of the thirty-seven days of racing offered at Narragansett Parks summer meeting, which opens August 15 and runs through September 26. Added monies for these stakes amount to 7,500, and this sum may be boosted 5,000 providing certain conditions Of the Narragansett Special are fulfilled. Stake books were issued today by racing secretary Pat Horgan. Of outstanding interest among the inaugurals are the opportunities provided for mares and fillies. The Mary Dyer, at one mile and seventy yards, with ,000 added, is restrained to fillies and mares, three-year-olds or older. The Lassie Claiming Stakes, at five and one-half furlongs; with ,500 added, is for two-year-old fillies, fl An important addition to the New England schedule is the New England Oaks, at one mile and a sixteenth, a stake with 5,000 added, confined to three-year-old fil-:lics. This promises to be established as a fixture in short order. I Another interesting departure from the beaten path trod by racing secretaries is the inauguration of a New England Juvenile Handicap, a six-furlong affair with ,000 added, for two-year-olds. This race is confined to juveniles owned at the time of the race by bona fide residents of New Eng-m land. Conditions invite New England sports-men to purchase subscriptions at 0 each for this event, but it is not necessary to name the actual entrant until September 16. Thus potential owners are given two months in which to acquire horses to fill their subscriptions, and, as may be readily understood, the race is written for the express purpose of encouraging New England ownership. The race will be run September 23. One other important addition, is the Nayatt Handicap, run at six furlongs, with ,000 added, for two-year-olds. All stake entries for the summer meeting close Wednesday, July 15. The complete stakes schedule is as follows: August 15 Blackstpne Valley Handicap, ,500, three-year-olds and over, six furlongs.
