SLIM SALOME sprinted into a long lead after the first quarter mile, was kept under steady pressure and held BLACK COHORT safe nearing the finish. BLACK COHORT saved ground entering the stretch, rallied to punishment and finished stoutly in the closing eighth, although unable to threaten the winner. QUEENS COLOR, shuffled back in the opening eighth, swung to the outside in the last five-sixteenths and finished full of run. ALLONS was hard hustled all the way, but failed to stay when the final test came. DARK ROBINA raced in spots. FLY WING showed speed in the first three-eighths. FRED TRACEY was outrun. CARDAMON rushed into the thick of contention and, following the leaders closely, rallied strongly to punishment and straiehtcned into the stretch, finished determinedly, then drew out after taking the lead in the final sixteenth. "BACKGROUND raced prominently in the early stages and closed with good energy. CHARLES J. displaced RED VAMP when reaching the stretch, but could ngt withstand the first two after moving into a short lead. BLUE DAMSEL closed an immense gap. COME SEVEN has no excuse while racing in the first flight. COSMIC PRINCE was outrun. BRIZETTE was away slowly. POT AU MINT lacked speed. GENTLE KNIGHT, BRIZETTE and POT AU MINT were away poorly. COLORED ARTIST moved into a long lead soon after the start, saved ground all the way and held sway until the close. CUP WINNER improved her position steadily when settled into her best stride, was blocked slightly when BELLE FULLER swerved to the inside midway of the stretch, then came around the latter to finish stronsly. BELLE FULLER raced forwardly in the early stages, but tired during the stretch drive. LITTLE SARGENT finished with good speed after losing ground entering the stretch. KID GLOVE raced well placed but failed to rally. BOOM DAYS could not threaten. DON SWEEP broke slowly and was never a factor. TAXIMAN was steered wide throughout. FATAL GIFT showed a brief flash of early speed. HIDDEN CITY suffered interference leaving the back stretch and quit. LINESMAN went well from the start, and held on strongly to withstand DARK MISSION. The latter bettered his position gradually in the last five-sixteenths and was gomg .stoutly at the close. MISSOURI JIM raced in his best form, but tired during the last quarter mile. HOI bl KIISU closed a big gap to finish full of run on the outside. PARTISAN was held safe. LIGHT BLUE showed a dull effort. MERIDIAN QUEEN quit. INVESTOR stood flatfootcd when the break came, was practically left and was not persevered with after coing to his field. ACAJOU, cased to the outside of the leaders when leaving the back stretch after being on the inside, rallied nicely to move into the lead in the final eighth and, holding on gamly under punishment, outstayed ROCHE DOR. The latter, a strong factor from the beginning, drew into the thick of contention in the last five-sixteenths and fought it out stubbornly all during the final drive. DAINTY ROSE, sov to settle into her stride, reached contention entering the stretch and finished determinedly. MPJ"Jt.rPPd b.ack bfadIy -leaving the back stretch, then came again .during the final quarter mile. GAY SYMPATHY, dear from the beoinning, failed to threaten when put to a drive and came very wide in the late stages. BAD BUUUI had good speed for seven-eighths, then tired. MISS JOKER, rated back of FIELD MOUSE until leaving the back stretch, moved into the lead when ready, was shaken up stronglv when, straightened into the stretch and outstayed LADY CHALLENGE under a hard drive. LADY CHALLENGE, reserved in the early running, swung to the outside when put to a drive and, finishing gamely, was wearing the winner down at every stride. LUMBERER, badly messed about in the first three-quarters, slipped through on the inside when reaching the stretch and closed gamely under a very weak ride. FAIR MINDED improved her position steadily and was gaining slowly nearing the close. SWEET EDWIN raced evenly and appears ready for a better effort. BLOND JESTER tired in the last qu"ter mile. BROADWAY MISS had a rough trip. FIELD MOUSE quit badly when caught. JUDGE ROCKbl quit early. Scratched 27319 Lady Kirk, 105. GIFT O GAB, going in greatly improved fashion raced ROUGH WATERS into submission, saved ground and held on determinedly when forced to a tenacious drive. PARADISE MAID moved up strongly when shaken up, offered a bold bid midway of the stretch and continued stoutly to the finish. DENCLAIRE, on the outside in the early running, was in trouble when reaching the final turn, then took a weaving course in the last llrccs-sixteerhs to firiisJa but not good enough. WHICHIKIO was , on her own courage. ROUGH WATERS showed improvement, was held safe. MUSLET closed stoutly after dropping far out of contention. MERRY BUD quit. Corrected weight Dcnclairc, 118-,
