The weather was extremely hot and the sun poured down with blistering heat. There was not a breath of air to temper the heat. Making a show of her opponents, Dance Princess, from the stable of Mrs. R. Schimel-pfenig, easily led home the eleven that opposed her in the second race, which was over five and one-half furlongs, and was for non-winners in 1936. At the end of the journey, the winner was six lengths in the clear of Tricky Miss, which raced in second position all the way.. The minor portion of the purse went to R. Hodges Prince Westend, which came from far back in the last quarter mile to beat Stimulaw for that part.
