. t HAWTHORNE TURF NOTES f s and Including J. Edwards, H. W. Fisher and M. Calvert, all recent arrivals, sixty-six jockeys and apprentices are qualified to accept mounts at Hawthorne. G. R. Bryson has engaged E. Arcaro to ride E. K. Brysons Carvola in the Chicago Derby, to be run at Hawthorne a week from Saturday. The large stable A. B. Gordon is training for C. B. Shaffer and his son, E. D. Shaffer, arrived at Arlington Park from New York Friday. , Trainer C. M. Feltner has returned from Charles Town, where he made an inspection of the division of his stable racing there. He is training for Mrs. K. N. Gilpin and E. R. Pike. Jockey H. W. Fisher, a recent arrival from Latonia with Ray Kindreds stable, was in colors here Friday. - Robert McGarvey on Monday sent twenty-eight head, all owned by the Milky Way Farms, to Arlington Park and the several still at Hawthorne rejoin their stable Tuesday. During the remainder of the Hawthorne meet, Milky Way performers with engagements there will be vanned between the two tracks. Having obtained some relief from an attack of boils which forced him to refrain from riding for several days, Hank Callahan was back in colors Monday. G. R. Miller with D. W. Duffys Sir Jim James, a scheduled starter in the Chicago Derby Saturday, is expected from Detroit Tuesday morning. A. G. Tarns Rushaway. a candidate for the Derby, and three stable companions along with C. V. Whitneys Tatterdemalion, another Chicago Derby hopeful, also are expected to arrive Tuesday from the Motor City.
