LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS J. Nolan and F. Chojnacki are staging a see-saw battle for leadership of the American jockeys. At the end of the week previous to last week, Chojnacki tied for the lead but the past week saw Nolan riding in his best form and topping Chojnacki by one winner, riding nine while the latter was riding eight winners. Nolans total for the year is 106 winners; Chojnackis, 105. Their percentages are identical, .15. Jockey A. Cooper, however, was easily the star of the week with sixteen winners, taking the East by storm with his riding. S. Palumbo also had a big week, with twelve winners.
