ALEXANDRINE, a forward factor from the start, responded gamely to urging in the final eighth, wore down GOOD TRADE and was .hawing away in the final strides. GOOD TRADE was rushed int o . pommand early, bore out rounding the turn and bothered the winner, but held on resolutely to the end SILVER PALM the end. WANDEROBO came through on the inside after rounding raced close to the early pace, but hung at the turn and finished well. THOMAS C. lost ground at the turn, but finished well. FLYING FEATHERS outran and outjumped his company from the start, saved ground throughout and had something left at the end. PERSIAN PRINCE improved his position steadily and finished well, although bothered by the riderless LOUANDRE. JOHN POINDEXTER was kept forwardly to the first turn of the field, was forced to take up when bothered by the riderless LOUANDRE and could not menace the leaders thereafter. MONUMENT, away well and saving ground rounding the turn, faltered under urging at the finish. MUSCATINE raced greenly and swerved in the early running. BILL FA RNS WORTH forced the early pace from the start, raced POMPEYS PILLAR into defeat and outlasted PULLMAN under pressure in the final drive. PULLMAN encountered trouble in the early running, came to the outside in the stretch, but sprawled slightly nearing the finish. POMPEYS PILLAR showed early speed while saving ground, but tired at the end. SCOTCH BUN, away well, dropped back and had no mishaps thereafter. QUIVER was badly outrun for a half mile, then came very fast and was going strongly at the finish. PLAYSICKLE raced to the front to make the pace, but tired in the stretch. RESPECT was close up in the early running, but prefers a soft track. LANTY BOY, given a fine ride, saved all possible ground in the early stages, but was not good enough.
