QUINCY LADY opened up a good lead while making the pace, but tired. OWITCH, usually a front runner, raced from behind to show a good effort. MERETA was used up trying to get to the front and tired. MANTECA slipped through an opening on the far turn to take a good lead and, holding on fairly well, barely missed. GREAT MEADOWS was forced to race around the outside, but finished close up and would have won in a few more strides. MILES STANDISH saved ground in the stretch, but tired. FANLE could not keep up. CANNY SCOT, close to the pace from the start, came fast under hard riding through the stretch to wear down MORALE and got to the front near the finish. MORALE drew away from the field after going a quarter to oDen up a cood lead and, although saving ground in the stretch, could not resist the winner. LOVERS CHAT was shuffled back soon after the start, but came very fast after leaving the back stretch and showed a fine effort. ANIMATE raced fairly well. MOHAC drew away a. trifle after leaving the back stretch, but could not resist the winner. ATHOLTON made up ground steadily in the stretch, and was going well at the finish. BRIMFIELD, in close quarters several times in the early running, hugged the rail around the stretch turn to loom up dangerously, but was in tight quarters again in the last sixteenth. ERECH, taken up sharply when in close quarters around the first turn and again in the back stretch, was taken to the outside in the stretch and finished full of run. MABEL KRASA tired. RESPECT quit.
